The Art City Project and Wild SF Walking Tours are joining forces to help you discover Way Out West, a month-long, public installation across San Francisco’s Mission District billboards, transit shelters, buses and other alternative spaces. The exhibit features art from contemporary artists with roots in California.
Way Out West revisits the California that’s known around the globe as a fertile ground for dreamers, pioneers and counterculture by reflecting on the changing social landscape of the West Coast and exploring the role of contemporary art in public spaces. Experience these soulful, ad-less locations with accompanying histories, original songs, and games.
For two limited tours only, the quirky guides of Wild SF will take you on free (donation-based) trips through the streets of the Mission, exploring the art, the artists, and the neighborhood itself.
Tours are being led on:
7/26 – 4pm-6pm
8/2 – 4pm-6pm
Tours meet at Duboce and Valencia (across from Zeitgeist, next to Pizza Zone N Grill).
